Welcome to Tokyo Osanpo Notebook (osanpo.net/en). By using this website or purchasing the Tokyo Osanpo Pass, which gives you a personal access key called the "Spare Key," you agree to the following terms.

1. Overview of the Service

Tokyo Osanpo Notebook is a web-based walking guide and digital notebook run by an individual creator based in Tokyo, Japan. It offers walking ideas, local events, a coloring map of Tokyo's stations, and location-based digital seals ("Gosokuin"). A few seals are free to try. The Spare Key unlocks the other seals, Hidden Seals, the hint map, and English walking essays as they are added.

2. Purchase & Merchant of Record (Gumroad)

• Merchant of Record: All payments, billing, and order processing for the Tokyo Osanpo Pass are handled by Gumroad, Inc., which acts as the merchant of record.
• When you buy the pass, you enter into a transaction directly with Gumroad under Gumroad's Terms of Service.
• Payment Methods: Major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal are accepted through Gumroad's secure checkout.
• Price & Currency: Prices are charged in US Dollars (USD). Gumroad may show an estimate in your local currency. Local taxes (such as VAT or sales tax) may be calculated and collected by Gumroad based on your location.

3. The Spare Key: Delivery and Validity

• Instant Delivery: After payment, your personal license key (the Spare Key) is shown on the Gumroad order confirmation screen and sent to your email address.
• Validity: The pass is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Your Spare Key stays valid for 30 days from the day you first enter it on osanpo.net/en. You will not be charged again.
• One Key per Person: Each key is for your own use. You may enter it on your own devices, but please don't share or publish it. A key that has been shared publicly may be disabled.

4. Refund Policy

• Digital Content: Because the pass gives immediate access to digital content, all sales are generally non-refundable.
• If you have a technical problem accessing the service that cannot be solved, or if you were charged twice by mistake, please contact us within 7 days of purchase.

5. Your Records, Location, and Maps

• Records: Your seals and omikuji draws are saved only in the browser on your device. They are not sent to the operator. Spare Key holders can choose to back up their records to the server and restore them with a backup code.
• Location: When you stamp a seal or open the hint map, your device's location is used only to check how close you are to a spot and to show where you are on the map. The osanpo.net server also checks the distance when it issues a seal number, but your location is not stored.
• Maps: The hint map uses GSI Japan map tiles. Loading the map images tells GSI roughly which area is on screen, but not your exact position. To show which way you are facing, the map may use your phone's orientation sensor.

6. Walking Safely & Respectfully

• Safety First: Don't look at your screen while walking. Always stop in a safe place before checking the map or stamping a seal.
• Respect Local Spaces: Some seal spots are near shops, shrines, or temples. Please respect local customs, keep your voice down, and never block paths or entrances. You never need to buy anything or enter a facility to get a seal.
• Private Property & Privacy: Never enter private property or closed areas. When taking photos, please be considerate of residents and passersby.

7. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

• Information Accuracy: Event schedules, shop details, and street scenes may change or close without notice. Please check official sources before visiting.
• GPS & Network: GPS accuracy varies with your device and surroundings (tall buildings, underground stations). Some spots offer an on-site quiz as a backup when GPS is unavailable, but uninterrupted GPS is not guaranteed.
• "As Is" Basis: This service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any accidents, injuries, device damage, or losses that occur while using this site or walking.

8. Intellectual Property

All original photographs, text, illustrations, and seal designs on this website belong to the operator. Reproducing, reselling, or distributing site content or license keys without permission is prohibited. Linking to osanpo.net is always welcome.

9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These terms, and any disputes related to this service, are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance.
